On June 30, 2007, members of the Princeton Junction Volunteer Fire Company and West Windsor Volunteer Fire Company attended Freedom Fest @ Mercer County Park. Both organizations arrived early in the afternoon and enjoyed the festivities before committing themselves to the fireworks detail. The fireworks went off without incident and were enjoyed by all. The area around the launch site and wood line were checked for any possible spot fires from the fireworks. A small fire was extinguished by members of West Windsor Fire Company utilizing their brush unit around the launch site.
