More Than Fireworks On The Fourth!

Members of the West Windsor Fire Company and Princeton Junction Fire Company were called to duty while enjoying the 4th of July holiday. Pagers sounded at 7:13 PM for a report of smoke coming from the Aquatics building in the West Windsor Community Park on Princeton-Hightstown Rd.

Engine 44 responded at 7:18 PM commanded by Chief Dennis Huber, driven by Driver/Operator Dennis McClenahan, with a crew that included Ff. Andrew Gettelfinger, Ff. Michael Hornsby, Ff. Rana Huber and Ff. Jeremiah Robison. Tower 44 responded at 7:24 PM commanded by Ff. Dave Gayley, driven by Driver/Operator James Bird, with a crew that included Ff. Dan Rosenbaum and Ff. Scott Shields.

Assistant Chief 44 (Terzian) arrived on location at 7:18 PM reporting smoke showing from the roof and requested the 1st alarm. This brought in Engine 40 (Washington), Rescue 42 (East Windsor), Tower 62 (Princeton), Tower 17 (Hamilton) and the FAST Team from Plainsboro. Engine 44 arrived at 7:21 PM and established a water supply. Telesquirt 43 arrived at 7:24 and deployed a 1 3/4" preconnected hose line which was stretched to the office where the fire was located by Engine 44's crew. Fire suppression crews where able to make quick entry into the office and knock down the fire.

Remaining crews on location checked the building for extension, performed overhaul and positive pressure ventilation. Units from West Windsor and Princeton Junction remained on location while an investigation into the cause of the fire was performed.
