Princeton Junction Volunteer Fire Company is always accepting applications for membership. The requirements for each type of membership are listed below. Please review the different types of membership and then click the Want to Join link below for an application. Please print or fill out the application form and mail to the address provided. Or E-Mail your application to pjfd@comcast.net The various classes of membership are listed below: Junior Firefighters · Applicants must be 16 or 17 years old and reside in West Windsor Township or be enrolled in the West Windsor School District · Junior Firefighters must maintain an academic average or "C" or equivalent to continue membership. · Junior Firefighters may only respond to calls during the hours of 6 AM to 10 PM with the exception of non-school nights, when he/she may respond until 11 PM. · Junior Firefighters must vacate the station by 10 PM on all school nights and 11 PM on all nights that do not precede a scheduled school day. · Junior Firefighters MAY NOT drive fire apparatus, enter a burning or smoke filled building, or display any warning device (blue light, hazard flashers, etc) while responding to a call. · Junior Firefighters MUST wear all protective clothing (helmet, coat, pants, boots, gloves, face shield) when answering an alarm and are in the direct charge of the fire officers and advisors of the company. Active Firefighters · Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and a resident citizen of the Township of West Windsor · Applicants for active membership shall attend Firefighter 1 through a recognized fire school, such as Mercer County Fire School. Applicants will have the same responsibilities as a Junior Firefighter until completion of the Firefighter 1 course. Upon completion of the Fire Fighter 1 training, member shall have a probationary period of 1 year. · Applicants for active membership must make 20% of all fire calls and 50% of the drills and/or meetings to remain active. · Applicants must attend State Mandated courses (Blood born Pathogens, right to know, hazard materials awareness) every year. Associate Members · Associate members must make 50% of the meetings and functions throughout the year. · Contribute support in some capacity. Examples of support are administrative office, work parties, parades, clean up, Operation Santa Claus, Fund Drives, help in tours of the firehouse, etc. · Associate members that meet the 50% requirement shall be eligible to vote for the Executive offices and have a voice at the company meetings. |
